Eurocup 2007 - Gruppeneinteilung

Jan. 2007 in Antwerpen (Belgien) bekannt gegeben.
Folgende prinzipiellen Regeln wurden für die Gruppeneinteilung benutzt:
"The IKF makes a draw for the final round pools based on the following principles: -
1) Countries are ranked according to their countries performance in the previous 4 tournaments. The competing countries are then placed in pairs according to this 4-year ranking. A draw then takes place between the countries in pairs 1 and 2. If, necessary further draws within pairs are made depending on the conditions listed below. 2) When making a draw teams that qualified from the same first round event must be placed in separate pools. 3) Within each pair, one country is drawn in one pool and the other country is immediately placed in the other pool. 4) If one country in a pool has been placed due to 2 above then the other country in its pair is placed in the other pool. 5) Once the pools have been filled a final draw is made to determine which pool plays twice on Day 1.
The countries in ranking order for this year’s event are NED, BEL, GBR, CZE, GER, POR, RUS & HUN.
From pair 1, NED was drawn into pool B so BEL is in Pool A. From pair 2, GBR was drawn into pool A. Therefore, CZE is in pool B. Since POR was in the same pool as GBR in round 1 they must be placed in pool B. Since HUN was in the same pool as CZE in round 1 they must be placed in pool A. From pair 3, POR is already placed in pool B so GER must be placed in pool A. This means that pool A is complete so RUS completes pool B.
