Der Rattankorb ist bald Geschichte

Der IKF hat den synthetischen Korb ab den World Games 2005 beschlossen.
International Korfball Federation approves Synthetic Korf The Council of the International Korfball Federation has decided to move ahead with the approval of synthetic korfs (baskets) to gradually replace the rattan korfs used for more than a century in the world’s only mixed team sport. The korf will become available on the market shortly and will be used for the first time in an official international competition during the World Games in Duisburg, Germany, in July 2005.
The Council formally approved the full technical and commercial requirements for synthetic korfs. Following this, the korf developed by the Royal Netherlands Korfball Association KNKV, together with DSM’s Design and Application Development Centre, was approved as the first synthetic korf to meet these requirements.
The korf is important for the further development of competitive korfball, as it provides an identical, durable, and environmentally friendly korf for all worldwide competitions. Rattan korfs can still be used for the next years but will be gradually phased out.
